My healing journey allowed me to dream again. By clearing away the cobwebs of trauma and relearning how to feel safe in the world, I opened myself up energetically, enabling me to see my life and desires more clearly. This newfound clarity inspired me to begin building a life I didn’t even realize I wanted until I started to heal.

The Journey of Emotional Digesting

As I began digesting decades of suppressed anger, fear, and shame, the energy that once went into suppressing my emotions was redirected. No longer engaged in an internal battle with my experiences, I felt an enormous sense of freedom—it felt like I had truly reclaimed my life. In fact, this was when my life truly began.

Healing from complex post-traumatic stress (C-PTS) allowed pure life force energy to flow through me for the first time since birth. Gradually, I began to recognize my desires as genuine possibilities. The path ahead became clearer, and practical steps toward realizing my dreams revealed themselves like stepping stones laid out before me.

The Power of Abundance Within

Imagine if all we needed to do to unleash the dormant abundance within us was to focus on healing our nervous systems. My healing journey permitted me to dream again, yet lately, I find myself wishing to embrace even more of that whimsical spirit, unencumbered by reality.

However, the grip of childhood wounds can be incredibly strong. Out of survival instinct, these wounds work diligently to keep us small. If we’re not mindful, we may begin to confuse the lies they tell us with our own truths.

Understanding the Grip of Not-Enoughness

This grip compels us to hide for protection. The physiological shape of our hiding creates deep-rooted beliefs of not-enoughness, etching cavernous rivers of thought into our minds. We begin to inherently believe we’re unworthy of our desires.

Not-enoughness serves as a guard dog barricading the doorway to possibility and abundance. Its bark may far exceed its bite, yet it can effectively trick us into believing we can’t pass through that threshold. Often, it merely seeks acknowledgment for its hard work.

Transforming the Guard Dog

When we attempt to force open a clenched fist, it only tightens further. Instead, we must commit to meeting this grip and placing a loving hand over its weary fist, helping it to soften in response to our compassion.

As we draw nearer to the guard dog of not-enoughness and extend a hand of gratitude for its unwavering service, we begin to calm its growls. When nourished with kindness and affection, the "guard dog" can transform into a playful, silly puppy.

Abundance and possibility have always existed within us, albeit protected by benevolent forces that once took on serious roles. These protective forces may feed us lies about what’s possible—not to hinder us, but to ensure we remain unchanged.

The Hero’s Journey of Self-Discovery

Emerging from hiding to meet the growling dog represents a hero’s journey. Embrace your inner hero. With the path cleared and inner bullies transformed into allies, our dreams and desires come into focus, and we start to believe they can materialize.
